Zane Smith and Ty Majeski have been taken out of contention to win Saturday’s Toyota 200, after a late-race crash taking out the top-two drivers.

After putting themselves in an amazing position to secure the victory in Saturday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at World Wide Technology Raceway, a late-race crash has taken Zane Smith and Ty Majeski out of contention.

The accident happened at the entrance to the third corner, when Ty Majeski, driving the No. 98 Ford F-150, dove to the inside of race leader Zane Smith and made door-to-door contact, sending both trucks into the outside wall.

That delivered the race lead to Grant Enfinger, as the top two trucks were taken out of contention with incredibly severe damage to both entries, which would not only toss them off the lead lap but likely out of the race.
