Brad Keselowski had a great opening Stage of Monday’s NASCAR Cup Series Wurth 400 at Dover Motor Speedway, but he’ll be behind the eight ball for the start of Stage 2 after an uncontrolled tire penalty in a pit stop during the Stage break.
As the No. 6 RFK Racing team performed its pit stop, the right front wheel that the team had removed from the car, rolled back in front of Keselowski’s car. As Keselowski took off from pit road, he collided with the tire, which sent the tire out of his pit box, and it would roll behind the pit road wall, narrowly avoiding bystanders.
A weird situation will lead to Brad Keselowski restarting at the rear of the field. pic.twitter.com/zQUs19OeF2
