Ryan Hunter-Reay, the 2014 Indianapolis 500 champion, will return to the Brickyard in 2023 behind the wheel of the No. 23 Chevrolet entry for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing.

The Dreyer & Reinbold Racing team made the announcement on Wednesday in the form of a Tweet shared at 4:10 PM ET.

Following the tweet from the race team, Hunter-Reay quote tweeted the post with his own Tweet, which read, “Psyched for this opportunity! See you in May.

In addition to his 2014 Indy 500 victory, the 42-year old racer boasts three top-five finishes and six top-10 efforts in 14 starts in the iconic event.

Hunter-Reay, who did not compete in the NTT IndyCar Series in 2022, has amassed 16 victories over the course of 239 career starts in the series. Hunter-Reay was also the NTT IndyCar Series champion in 2012, a season where the racer scored four victories.

The Indianapolis 500 effort will join Hunter-Reay’s full schedule of SRX Racing in 2023. The native of Dallas, Texas announced on February 28th that he will compete in all six of the summer racing series events.
