Chase Purdy will not return to the No. 61 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for Hattori Racing Enterprises in 2023, the organization announced in a statement on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old, who began his tenure with the organization at the start of this season, currently sits 16th in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series point standings, boasting two top-10 results and an average finish of 17.8.

“We are appreciative to Chase for his efforts and contributions in helping to establish a second team and earning career-high statistics for this season,” a team statement reads. “HRE intends to continue fielding two trucks in 2023, and is in the process of solidifying the next driver of the No. 61 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro.”

At this time, the two-truck organization has yet to announce whether or not Tyler Ankrum will return to his post aboard the No. 16 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro.

“We look forward to closing out the season strong with Chase [Purdy] as we continue to build for the 2023 season,” the team statement continues.

Purdy’s addition to Hattori Racing Enterprises at the beginning of the season marked the first time that the organization had committed to fielding two full-time entries in the NASCAR Truck Series.
