Alex Palou led the way in the final practice session of the weekend before Sunday’s Sosnio Grand Prix from Road America.
Piloting the No. 10 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda, Palou had the primary (black sidewall) Firestone tires fitted and ran a lap at 1m45.2291s around the 4.048-mile, 14-turn road course. Palou’s pace topped Josef Newgarden by 0.3046s.

Meyer Shank Racing’s Simon Pagenaud was third quickest sitting 0.3461s off of Palou. Rookie David Malukas and Felix Rosenqvist round out the top five positions.
Romain Grosjean placed sixth-fastest, who had his practice shortened due to a penalty from qualifying. The No. 28 Andretti Autosport Honda team pushed their car through the incorrect pit-wall gap to get back to the garage area.
Pole-sitter, Alexander Rossi was seventh. Pato O’Ward slotted in eighth. Will Power and another rookie Christian Lundgaard closed out the top 10.
It was a calm session with the lingering factor of rain, that carried over from qualifying. The precipitation did not effect the track surface, becoming more persistent in the final five minutes.
With only eight minutes left in the session, Tatiana Calderon, slowly drove off to the side of the track as she exited Turn 8. The No. 11 AJ Foyt Racing Chevrolet was pulled off to the grass behind the left side wall.
