It’s going to be a long road for Justin Haley and Greg Biffle, who hope to secure decent finishes for Kaulig Racing and NY Racing in Sunday’s Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond, as both cars failed inspection three times on Friday evening.

As a result, both teams have had a member of their team ejected for the weekend, both cars will not be permitted to make a qualifying lap on Saturday and both cars will need to make a pass through penalty after taking the green flag in Sunday’s race.

At a short track, like Richmond, a pass through penalty to start the race, will certainly put them at least one lap down.

In addition to the cars of Haley and Biffle, which failed inspection three times, five teams had their cars fail inspection twice.

The No. 3 Richard Childress Racing car, the No. 16 Kaulig Racing car, the No. 17 RFK Racing car, the No. 23 23XI Racing car and the No. 47 JTG Daugherty Racing car all failed inspection twice and have lost pit stall selection and they’ve had a crew member ejected for the weekend as well.

The team members ejected for these five teams are:

No. 3 – Car Chief, Ryan Chism
No. 16 – Car Chief, Andy Suess
No. 17 – Car Chief, Josh Sisco
No. 23 – Car Chief, Zach Marquardt
No. 47 – Car Chief, Joe Gwilt
