Patrick Emerling Joins Joey Gase to Form Emerling-Gase Motorsports

Joey Gase and Patrick Emerling have joined forces to create the Emerling-Gase Motorsports team in 2022. The team will compete in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

In mid-November, Joey Gase announced the formation of his own full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series team for the 2022 season, Joey Gase Racing. A little more than a month later, the team has a new name, as Patrick Emerling has partnered with Gase to form Emerling-Gase Motorsports.

“It was interesting how this team came about as Joey and I had the same goals of starting a NASCAR XFINITY Series team,” said Emerling. “We combined our equipment to field a competitive car full time, and I am very excited to see what the future holds for Emerling-Gase Motorsports”.

According to a press release sent out on Thursday, the team will still utilize the No. 35 for their full-time entry, as previously announced, but they will also field a second car part-time during the 2022 season.

The No. 35 team will utilize the No. 23 Our Motorsports owner points from the 2021 season and the team will have a driver lineup consisting of Emerling, Gase and Shane Lee, who the team announced they had purchased cars from in their previous announcement.

For Gase, the excitement continues to build as the 2022 season approaches.

“I am very excited to be teaming up with Patrick on this new adventure,” said Gase. “We both share the same vision and goals for the future, and we are both true racers at heart. The other cool thing is that we will be two of the youngest owners in the sport, but still have a lot of experience and knowledge to go with that.”

Emerling, who finished second in the 2021 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour championship standings, has four-career NASCAR Xfinity Series starts to his credit as a driver. The 29-year old has a career-best finish of 24th, which came at Kansas this past fall.

Emerling, Gase and Lee will look to hit the ground running as Emerling-Gase Motorsports will make their debut at Daytona International Speedway in February.
