Austin Hill will not be returning to Hattori Racing Enterprises in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series next season, FOX Sports’ Jamie Little reported prior to the start of Saturday’s Chevrolet Silverado 250.

The Winston, Georgia-native has collected eight victories in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series since he began driving for Hattori Racing Enterprises in 2019, finishing fifth and sixth in final point standings in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Hill was eliminated from the first round of the series’ playoffs this season, although the No. 16 truck is still eligible to win the owner’s title.

Little says that Hill will be advancing into the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2022, and is hoping to officially announce his plans within the next couple of weeks. No potential candidates – for Hill’s new team or his replacement — were mentioned in the report
