Video: Sam Mayer Impacts Tire Barriers After Intense Battle with Teammate Chase Elliott

Sam Mayer will be relegated to another poor finish in Saturday Afternoon’s Pennzoil 150 at Indy’s Road Course, after an intense battle with JR Motorsports teammate – albeit temporary — Chase Elliott has resulted in the No. 8 making hard contact with the tire barrier. Mayer was on-track to score a career-best finish, and his first top-five in Xfinity Series competition.

 

 

Mayer would be able to get off of the racing surface, and pull into a clear area away from the live track, but would end up with a 27th-place finish.
