It looks as though the rivalry between championship contenders Ty Gibbs and Corey Heim will continue for the balance of the season, as it has through the first 12 races of the ARCA Menards Series season. In Saturday Night’s Calypso Lemonade 200 at Winchester Speedway, the score ticked in the favor of Joe Gibbs Racing’s Ty Gibbs.

As the leaders approached top-five runner Thad Moffitt, who was being put a lap down in the final laps of the event, Ty Gibbs made slight contact with the rear bumper of Corey Heim’s No. 20 Craftsman Toyota Camry, resulting in a spin and subsequent caution flag in the final laps of the event.  The Joe Gibbs Racing driver went on to win the event, while Heim rebounded to finish in third.

Heim seemed maniacally at peace with the situation, saying: “This is the first time that push came to shove, and all I’ve got to say is I cannot be more excited for Watkins Glen, we haven’t spun the 18 out a single time or anything, but we just took it up a notch a little bit, so I’m really excited for Watkins Glen.”
