Michele Abbate – a driver and team owner in the Trans Am West Coast Championship — is set to make her NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut in Saturday’s Toyota Tundra 225, piloting the No. 30 Toyota Tundra for On Point Motorsports, according to NASCAR’s Team Roster Portal.

Abbate, 33, was the runner-up in the 2020 Trans Am West Coast Championship in just her second season in the series, scoring a total of four top-five finishes in five starts. According to her social media channels, Abbate has been working on getting an opportunity at COTA in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for over a month, as she hopes her prior experience on the course will pay off.

Entering COTA, the No. 30 entry for On Point Motorsports sits 30th in 2021 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Owner Points and has been driven by Danny Bohn in each of the series’ first eight races this season.
