Video: Kevin Harvick’s Championship Hopes End With Crash in Final Turn With Kyle Busch

On the final lap of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway, Kevin Harvick — the dominant driver throughout the season — was one point shy of advancing to the Championship 4.

Going into the final turn, Harvick pushed it hard to get alongside Kyle Busch. The two made contact and Harvick spun around into the inside wall, ending Harvick’s title hopes.

Following the incident, Harvick admitted (as if the footage wasn’t clear enough) that it was his fault.

“Tried to run into the door the No. 18 as a last ditch effort there and spun him out,” Harvick explained. “Sorry to put him in the middle of trying to gain a point.”
