Wow. It had become awkward throughout the 2019 season as Kyle Busch was calling out his two young drivers — Todd Gilliland and Harrison Burton — for not winning races despite being in what Busch considers the best equipment in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series.

And while it hasn’t been officially announced who will pilot trucks for Busch again in 2020, the post-race in car audio from Gilliland may suggest that he still has personal beef with Busch.

After taking his first win at Martinsville Speedway, Gilliland keyed his radio in jubilation. Moments later, he yelled at Busch saying that Busch should, “Stay in your fucking motor home.”

Here is the in-car audio, which was captured by Luis Torres and shared on Twitter:

After climbing from the car, Gilliland was asked by the media about his post-race comments on the radio.

“It was heat of the moment really,” Gilliland explained. “Just a lot of emotions. Everyone’s heard what he said. Obviously, it’s true, we should have been running better. I’ve wanted to win for the last year and a half as well. I’m doing all I can and the guys at the shop are. It was pretty much heat of the moment. Probably wish I didn’t say it now, but it is what it is. He’s said some stuff about me. It is what it is.”

This awkward situation just got a lot more awkward.

  1. Todd gilliland is one of the BEST drivers I’ve ever watched he deserved more respect from Kyle bush then he got although that is not the language that Todd usually uses but I think it was well deserved. Hope they have more respect for Todd he is a Great driver and will be a champion of cup wait and see. ???
