Luckily for Chase Elliott, his Stage 2 win in Sunday’s Bank of America 400 at the Roval locked him into the next round of the Playoffs. In the final Stage, Elliott was leading the race on a restart, when he made a mistake and carried too much speed going into turn one.
Elliott’s brakes locked up and he went straight into the Tums Heartburn Turn branded softwall.
It was embarrassing, but Elliott minimized damage and still has a shot to battle for a decent finish.
The good news: Chase Elliott just clinched his spot in the next round of the #NASCARPlayoffs.
The bad news: He just wrecked from the race lead. TV: @NBC. pic.twitter.com/tSHtnY076b
