Busch Beer Takes Their Name Off Harvick’s Car at Dover to Needle His Rivals

Busch Beer has not been bashful to taking wild marketing swings with their sponsorship of Kevin Harvick.

This season alone, the beer brand has run a pink Millennial car, and a snazzy Gen-X paint scheme as well. They have dressed their car in plaid, and bright orange colors in addition to their standard blue.

This weekend at Dover International Speedway, they are doing something really unorthodox — they’re taking their name off the No. 4 car.

That’s right. All of the usual places on the Busch Beer paint scheme where you would see the word “Busch” it will be replaced with Harvick’s last name. Reminiscent of 1:64 scale die-casts or video games when they replace alcoholic sponsorship with the driver’s name.

But this isn’t in an effort to try to hide the fact that Harvick is sponsored by a beer company. No, it’s intended to be a jab at two of Harvick’s biggest on-track rivals — Kyle and Kurt Busch.

In a Twitter video posted on Wednesday, Busch Beer explained in detail why they are going this direction this weekend and they also showcase the All-Harvick paint scheme.

  1. This is hysterical……I just went and ordered two of the 1:64. Had to have them. I have a couple of Brad Keselowski cars that say blue deuce instead of the beer name so that they could be sold to kids…..this is sort of the same idea with a comical twist.
