Helio Castroneves was a last-minute walk on for the Camping World SRX Series season-opening event at Five Flags Speedway last weekend, but the four-time Indianapolis 500 champion will be back this week with a new partner on the No. 06 machine.

On Thursday, SRX Racing announced that the Michael Waltrip Brewing Co. will serve as the sponsorship partner on the Castroneves car for this weekend’s event at South Boston Speedway.

Here is the tweet, where SRX made the official announcement:

Despite being a last minute addition to the driver lineup at Five Flags Speedway, Castroneves would go on to score the Heat 2 win and then he would go on to take the checkered flag in the Main Event.

In a follow up tweet, SRX gave a quote from Waltrip, who also competes in the Series, on Castroneves.

“Getting to know Helio has been so cool. He’s fun, energetic and loves racing. And now, he’s not only a 4X Indy 500 Champion, he’s an SRX winner,” Waltrip said. “In our partnership with Helio we are here with beers to celebrate his success. From 2-time to 4-time, cheers Buddy.”

The second, of six, races for the 2022 Camping World SRX season takes place at South Boston Speedway in South Boston, Virginia on Saturday, June 25th. The race will be broadcast live on CBS and can also be streamed on Paramount+. The broadcast will begin at 8:00 PM ET.
