Ernie Francis, Jr. – who competes full-time in the Indy NXT Series for Force India, will return to the Superstar Racing Experience in 2023, competing in the series’ season-finale at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri.

Francis has been a part of the Camping World SRX Series since its inception in 2021, finishing runner-up in championship standings to Tony Stewart in the series’ inaugural season.

“SRX is always a blast to complete in,” said Ernie Francis, Jr. “The drivers are some of the best from their distinct disciplines, and I am excited to put myself to the test on the dirt at Lucas Oil.”

Over the course of the last two years, the 25-year-old driver has made nine starts in the Superstar Racing Experience, where he scored a victory at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis and a pair of podium finishes.

“We are excited to welcome back Ernie for year three of SRX,” said SRX CEO, Don Hawk. “He’s a fierce competitor who has made his own marks in the series. We are excited to say that we will see you at Lucas Oil Speedway for the championship on August 17.”

A native of Davie, Florida, Francis joined the Indy Lights Series – now known as Indy NXT – following his impressive results in the Superstar Racing Experience, where over the last two seasons he’s accumulated one podium, and 15 finishes inside the top-10.

In addition to his experience climbing the ladder in open-wheel racing, Francis has also made a couple of appearances in full-bodied stock cars, making his NASCAR Xfnity Series debut for MBM Motorsports at Road America in 2017.

Francis also has a pair of ARCA Menards Series East starts on his resume from 2018, where he scored the pole and finished in the runner-up spot at New Jersey Motorsports Park, driving for Rev Racing.
