Well, well, well — it’s Summer time and Kyle Larson is just starting to get heated up. A night after scoring the win in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car event at Port Royal Speedway, Larson scored another dirt win — this time in the Hyper Racing 600 Speedweek Wingless Micro Sprint race at Linda’s Speedway in Jonestown, Pennsylvania.

Larson, who turned the fast lap in qualifying earlier in the evening in the No. 95 entry, started the Main Event from the second position.

On the initial start of the race, Larson jumped the gun, which caused a re-rack and re-attempt of the start of the 30-lap race.

As things got under way, Larson settled in behind race leader Steven Snyder Jr. But the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion wouldn’t be content with running runner-up for long. The 29-year old Larson snagged the lead inside the opening 10 laps of the event, and he wouldn’t relent from there.

Larson would pull to a sizable lead with two-thirds of the race completed, but lapped traffic would give Snyder and others a chance to attempt the upset win over Larson. However, Larson was just to strong as he would cruise home to the victory and the $1,000 prize.

In his post-race interview, Larson stated that he will run Friday and Saturday night in the World of Outlaws events at Williams Grove in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

Larson will also compete in this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series M&M’s Fan Appreciation 400 at Pocono Raceway.

It’s going to be a busy weekend for the man who was named the 2022 ESPY “Best Driver”, but Larson seems to thrive when he is on track more frequently.
