The ASA STARS National Tour is set for its return to Hickory Motor Speedway, Thursday, May 23, 2024 for event #3 of the season. Advance sale discounted tickets are now on sale for the Tar Heel 250 “Thunder In The Foothills”. The event will be co-sanctioned by the ASA Southern Super Series and will also feature a National Qualifier for the INEX Legends.

The midweek return of the ASA STARS National Tour will take place just prior to Charlotte Motor Speedway’s huge Memorial Day Weekend NASCAR events, as it did in 2023.

Last season’s event was exciting with Gio Ruggiero making an aggressive last lap pass of NASCAR’s William Byron to squeeze by at the finish line. Cole Butcher, Ty Majeski, and Caden Kvapil finished off the top five in an event that also featured Chase Elliott, Bubba Pollard, Stephen Nasse, Jesse Love, Casey Roderick, and many more top Super Late Model stars.

Two ASA STARS events have been held so far this season with 61 different drivers competing over the first two races. Senoia, GA’s Bubba Pollard took the victory in the season opener at New Smyrna Speedway, working by Ty Majeski late in the Clyde Hart Memorial. At Five Flags Speedway, Cole Butcher dominated the late stage of the race to take the victory over a hard charging Stephen Nasse.

Butcher, last year’s point runner-up, currently leads the standings by just 12 over Casey Roderick, while Ruggiero, Pollard, and Jett Noland round out the top five. Nasse, Jake Finch, Matt Craig, Kyle Steckly, and Conner Jones complete the top ten in points.

Hauler parking, tech inspection and practice are scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, with practice, Go Fas Pole Qualifying and the 250-lap STARS Main Event set for Thursday, May 23. The INEX Legends have also been added to the program and will be running a National Qualifier event.

The preliminary detailed schedule has ASA STARS National Tour practice on track on Wednesday, May 22 at 5:00 PM with Legends also on track to follow. Practice is scheduled to run from 5:00-8:00.

Then race day, Thursday, May 23, practice is set to begin at 1:00 PM with Legends qualifying at 4:00 and ASA STARS GoFas Racing Pole Qualifying at 4:30. An ASA autograph session is on schedule for 5:30 with the Legends feature set for 6:30. The ASA STARS / Southern Super Series Tar Heel 250 is scheduled for a 7:30 PM green flag.

Advance sale discounted tickets are available now at bit.ly/TarHeel250Tickets . Tickets are $5 cheaper if purchased in advance. Tickets are $25 for adults, $5 for kids 6-12, and $20 for military members. Tickets at the gate will be $30 for adults and military and $10 for kids.
