Well, Kaden Honeycutt and TRICON Garage didn’t waste any time picking up exactly where defending NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Corey Heim left off.
Driving the No. 11 Safelite Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, Honeycutt jumped to the top of the speed charts in Thursday’s 50-minute session, posting a lap time of 48.439 seconds (185.801mph).
Taylor Gray, running a one-off for TRICON Garage in the No. 1 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, was second-quickest, with Grant Enfinger, Michael McDowell, and Cole Butcher rounding out the top five.
Timmy Hill, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., Dawson Sutton, Gio Ruggiero, and John Hunter Nemechek rounded out the top-10.
The practice session marked the on-track return of RAM in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series through Kaulig Racing. Brenden Queen was the quickest of those drivers in 27th, with Daniel Dye 29th, Justin Haley 30th, Tony Stewart 31st, and Mini Tyrrell 35th. Although none of them made any drafting runs.
Additionally, seven trucks didn’t even get to post a time in practice on Thursday, after getting held up in technical inspection: #19 Daniel Hemric, #27 Toni Breidinger, #28 Bryan Dauzat, #35 Greg Van Alst, #81 Kris Wright, #90 Justin Carroll, and #97 Jason Kitzmiller.
Qualifying for the Fresh From Florida 250 will take place on Friday, February 13, at 3:00 PM ET on FOX Sports 1.
