Ryan Sieg, who is seeking his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series win, led the way in single-lap speed in Saturday’s practice session for the IAA and Ritchie Bros. 250 at Martinsville Speedway.
Sieg turned a fastest-lap of 20.568 seconds around the 0.526-mile paperclip, which allowed him to top short track ace Brenden Queen, who is driving the No. 11 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet. Sieg turned his quickest lap time on his ninth lap, and in total, he ran 19 laps in the session.
Hendrick Motorsports development driver Corey Day was third-fastest in the session, while JR Motorsports Championship 4 contenders Justin Allgaier and Connor Zilisch rounded out the top-five fastest in the session.
Zilisch would suffer a wheel-hop during the middle point of the session and would go for a spin.
