Another silly season domino has fallen — albeit not a huge one. Brennan Poole will take over the Premium Motorsports No. 15 machine for the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season, the team announced on Wednesday.

“I’ve been working towards this moment since I was 5 and feel blessed to have the caliber of people surrounding me that I have in this next chapter of my racing career,” Poole said in a team release. “I look forward to the opportunity to showcase our sponsor partners, both new and existing, who are supporting me at the highest level of NASCAR competition.”

The 28-year old driver has never started a Cup Series event, but he has recorded a best finish of second in NASCAR Xfinity Series competition, and this past season he also scored a runner-up finish in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series race at Charlotte.

Premium Motorsports was ensnared in a four-team cheating scandal in the final race of the 2019 season in an effort to collect the bonus money for being the top non-chartered team.

Poole will run full-time and will compete for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors this season.
