Sheldon Creed saw his Playoff hopes evaporate after an incident with Ty Gibbs after Noah Gragson triggered it with contact. Screengrab from USA broadcast.

Sheldon Creed was driving like a man possessed. He came into the night looking like he was going to need a win to advance into the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs.

In the early going of the race, Creed was ultra-aggressive and he found himself in the race lead after a gutsy call to stay out on old tires.

However, after tight racing with Justin Allgaier for the lead, Creed’s Playoff hopes came to an end on lap 130 when he was swept up in a crash in Turn 2 with Ty Gibbs.

Here is video of what ended the night for Creed:

The incident was triggered when Noah Gragson nipped into the rear of Gibbs’ car, which sent Gibbs skidding up the track into Creed, which sent them both hard into the wall. The impact ended both of their nights.
