Alpha Prime has added yet another talented driver to their massively growing driver lineup for the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series season as Kaz Grala will compete in four races for the team this year and will serve as the team’s official reserve driver.

For the 23-year old Grala, this is a chance to drive for and help grow the company of one of the people he considers the nicest in the entire garage — Tommy Joe Martins.

“I’ve been friends with Tommy Joe for years now and have always thought of him as one of the best guys in the garage. Towards the end of last year, he and I talked about what they’re building at Alpha Prime Racing and what their long-term vision is for the team,” said Grala. “I wanted to be involved any way I could, so I’m really thrilled and grateful to be a part of the program this year as they grow.”

Alpha Prime co-owner Tommy Joe Martins holds Grala in high regard as far as his driving ability goes, and he is excited to see the young driver wheel their cars around the track this season.

“Kaz is one of the best young drivers in NASCAR,” said Martins. “When Caesar and I talked about available free agents, Kaz was an easy choice. We’re extremely excited to have him on our roster for the first year of Alpha Prime Racing and we hope we can for years to come.”

Despite being a journeyman to this point in his career, Grala has impressed at every level of the NASCAR National Series ranks. He is a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race winner, and he has scored four top-fives in NASCAR Xfinity Series competition along with two top-10s in four NASCAR Cup Series starts.

Grala says he has circled some of his favorite tracks on the schedule and that he has the opportunity to keep adding races to his slate.

According to a release from Alpha Prime Racing, the Boston, MA-native will get his first turn behind the wheel at Auto Club Speedway on February 26th. A graphic posted by the team on Twitter, following the release, lists Las Vegas, Phoenix and New Hampshire as Grala’s other three set races with Alpha Prime in 2022.

Martins will drive the other Alpha Prime machine at Auto Club Speedway as Grala’s teammate.
