Joey Gase, who owns and drives for his own team — Emerling Gase Motorsports — in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, will be going NASCAR Camping World Truck Series racing at Knoxville Speedway on June 18th.

Gase, 29, will pilot the No. 31 entry for On Point Motorsports with sponsorship from Sparks Energy Inc.

The Iowa-native made the announcement via a Facebook post on Wednesday.

“Ever since Xfinity stopped going to Iowa Speedway it has been a huge disappointment to me,” Gase said in the post. “Now, thanks to the Camping World Truck Series, the great people at Sparks Energy and On Point Motorsports, I get to race in front of my friends and family again in the great state of Iowa.”

On Point Motorsports fields the No. 30 entry full-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with Tate Fogleman as the driver. Gase will join Fogleman as a teammate for the dirt race at Knoxville.

Gase has just four NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts on his resume, with a best finish of 30th coming at Kansas Speedway in 2019. Gase has competed in five NASCAR Xfinity Series races this season for his upstart team and he has recorded a best finish of 16th, which came at Talladega Superspeedway.
