Inspection Complete: Zane Smith Officially Scores Phoenix Win and 2022 Truck Championship (Pending Engine Teardown)

Post-race technical inspection following Friday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix Raceway has been completed.

Zane Smith’s race-winning No. 38 Michael Roberts Construction Front Row Motorsports Ford F-150 has passed inspection. Pending engine teardown, which will take place at 3PM on Saturday, Smith and his team will be named the official winners of the race.

With the win, Smith, a Championship 4 contender, will also secure the 2022 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship. This is the first NASCAR Truck Series championship in Smith’s career.

No issues were detected in post-race inspection, which means all results and standings following Friday’s race are now considered official.

Ben Rhodes came up just shy of his second-consecutive NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship as he finished second in the event. Chandler Smith, another championship contender, finished third. John Hunter Nemechek and Stewart Friesen rounded out the top-five finishers.

Ty Majeski, the fourth Championship 4 driver, finished 20th after a late spin.
