Sunday at The Milwaukee Mile, Grant Enfinger snapped a drought of four-plus years without a pole position in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, scoring the pole for the Clean Harbors 175.

Enfinger, a seasoned veteran of the NASCAR Truck Series, was able to post the quickest lap in Sunday’s time trial session, with a time of 29.744 seconds (122.838mph) in his No. 23 Champion Power Equipment Chevrolet Silverado.

For the Fairhope, Alabama native, the pole position marks the fifth of his NASCAR Truck Series career, but more surprisingly marks the first for GMS Racing in more than two years, and the first on an oval since August 2019.

The 38-year-old driver will be placed alongside defending ARCA Menards Series champion Nick Sanchez for the 175-lap contest, as he looks to advance his playoff hopes with his first career victory on Sunday.

Carson Hocevar, one of the more experienced drivers at the one-mile facility, will start from third place, while Taylor Gray, the winner of the 2022 ARCA Menards Series event at the facility, will start from fourth.

Daniel Dye, driving the No. 43 Chevrolet Silverado as a teammate to Enfinger, recorded a career-high starting spot in fifth place, with new partner Hamlin & Associated on board for the first time.

Christian Eckes will start the race from sixth place, while Chase Purdy, Corey Heim, Jake Garcia, and Ben Rhodes will complete the race’s first five rows at the drop of the green flag.

Ty Majeski, who paced Saturday’s 50-minute practice session, will be credited with a starting spot of 13th. However, the ThorSport Racing driver will have to fall to the rear of the field and serve a pass-through penalty after an inspection issue prior to qualifying.

Zane Smith, one of nine drivers battling for the seven remaining spots in the Round of 8, will start 18th, with fellow NASCAR Truck Series Playoff drivers Matt Crafton and Matt DiBenedetto starting 22nd and 23rd.

Sean Hingorani, tapped this weekend to join Hattori Racing Enterprises in a second entry, will start from the 27th spot, successfully qualifying for his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut.

With 37 drivers entered for Sunday’s Clean Harbors 175, one team had to pack up early, and won’t take the green flag, that being Dexter Bean and family-owned Blackjack Racing, who brought the No. 21 Chevrolet to the track for the first time.
