Trent William Milsap, the suspect in the murder of former NASCAR competitor and three-time USAC National Champion Bobby East, has been shot and killed by Westminster Police,, according to a report from mynewsla.com.

Milsap, 27, allegedly stabbed the 37-year old race car driver in the chest during an argument at a gas station.

East was pronounced dead at a local area hospital following the stabbing.

Bobby East – a former competitor in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series — has passed away at the age of 37, according to USACRacing.com.

East, a three-time USAC National Champion in the USAC Silver Crown and Midget divisions, passed away on the evening of Wednesday, July 13.

According to mynewsla.com, East suffered a stab wound to the chest at a gas station on Westminster Blvd. in Los Angeles, California. The Brownsburg, Indiana-native would be rushed to a local area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Between 2005 and 2008, East competed in 42 NASCAR National Series events, including a majority schedule in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for Wood Brothers Racing, where he scored two top-10 finishes and a pole at IRP.
