Codie Rohrbaugh will return to NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competition in the No. 97 entry for his CR7 Motorsports team in the 2023 season-opening event at Daytona International Speedway.

After not competing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series last season, Codie Rohrbuagh is preparing to get behind the wheel for the season-opening NextEra Energy 250 at Daytona International Speedway, TobyChristie.com has learned.

Rohrbaugh, who last competed in the series in October 2021, will drive the No. 97 Chevrolet Silverado for his family-owned operation, CR7 Motorsports, which will look to put two entries in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series field for the first time ever.

In last season’s NASCAR Truck Series season-opener at Daytona, the second CR7 Motorsports entry attempted to qualify with Jason Kitzmiller, but was forced to withdraw from the event after destroying the truck in the opening minutes of practice.

The 29-year-old served as the anchor driver for CR7 Motorsports from 2018 to 2020, before maintaining a smaller presence behind the wheel of the No. 9 Chevrolet Silverado in 2021. In 36 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts, Rohrbaugh has collected two top-five and six top-10 finishes, including a career-best third-place result at Daytona in 2020.

Last season, CR7 Motorsports attempted its first full season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with Blaine Perkins getting behind the wheel of the No. 9. In 22 starts, Perkins scored a season-high 18th-place finish.

Colby Howard, Rohrbaugh’s teammate for the season-opener at Daytona, has reunited with the organization for the full NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule in 2023, piloting the No. 9 Chevrolet Silverado.
