Chase Purdy will lead the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series field to green in Friday’s Kansas Lottery 200 at Kansas Speedway, after scoring his first career pole position with a blistering lap in single-truck qualifying.

Purdy, driving the No. 4 Bama Buggies Chevrolet Silverado for Kyle Busch Motorsports, laid down a lap of 30.631 seconds (176.292mph) on his way to topping the leaderboard, scoring the pole position by 0.016 seconds over de facto teammate Nick Sanchez.

Sanchez, a four-time polesitter in the NASCAR Truck Series in 2023, enters Friday’s 200-mile contest only three points above the cutline, as he looks to advance to the next round of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series post-season.

Ty Majeski, who has already locked his spot into the next round via a victory at IRP, will start the race from third-place, while Chevrolet-backed drivers Jack Wood and Jake Garcia will round out the race’s top-five starters.

Just outside the top-five, were ThorSport Racing teammates Ben Rhodes, who will start sixth, and Hailie Deegan, who will roll from the seventh spot. Christian Eckes will start eighth, while part-timers Jesse Love and Jake Drew rounded out the top-10.

Matt DiBenedetto and Grant Enfinger will share the sixth row, while Zane Smith will start 14th, Corey Heim 15th, and Carson Hocevar 17th are among the other playoff-eligible drivers on the grid for Friday’s race.

Matt Crafton, who enters the final race of the Round of 10 only nine points above the cutline, will be forced to start at the rear of the field after a cut tire forced the No. 88 Ford F-150 to move to a backup truck.

Crafton, as one of six trucks to not make a lap, will be credited with starting the race 31st. Colby Howard, Timmy Hill, Lawless Alan, Spencer Davis, and Chase Janes were the other five drivers who didn’t take time in qualifying.

With only 36 trucks on the entry list for Friday’s 200-mile contest, every driver that showed up at Kansas Speedway will take the green flag, including Jennifer Jo Cobb, making her season debut in the No. 10 Chevrolet Silverado, who was slowest of those who took time.
