Chase Janes – a standout in Late Model competition at Hickory Motor Speedway — will attempt to qualify for his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut with Reaume Brothers Racing at Martinsville Speedway, the team announced on Thursday.

The Fort Wayne, Indiana-native began his racing career with an interest in go-karts at the age of seven, before moving to Concord, North Carolina with his family to kick-start his racing efforts. Starting a Late Model team with his father, Janes showed early promise, with three top-10s and a top-10 in points in 2018.

The following year, Janes was sidelined after the first lap of opening night, when he suffered a broken wrist in an accident. The injury required Janes to undergo surgery, as well as multiple physical therapy sessions.

Upon returning to Hickory Motor Speedway in 2020, Janes had a breakout year, collecting six victories at the infamous three-eighths-mile speedway, four of which happened during the Paramount KIA Big 10 Challenge.

“Coming off of surgery in 2019, I knew it would be a climb to just get back to where I was,” Janes said in a team release. “After a successful 2020 and 2021, I’m very blessed for the opportunity that Josh (Reaume), Frank (Bickford), and everyone with the team has given me. Everything happens for a reason, and I’m excited to roll into Martinsville in April.”

Reaume Brothers Racing team owner Josh Reaume echoed the same level of excitement as Janes, saying: “I thoroughly enjoy having drivers make their National Series debut with our team. Chase has an extensive short track background and I am excited to see that success transfer to Martinsville.”

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series United Rentals 200 at Martinsville Speedway will take place on Thursday, April 7th, with broadcast coverage taking place on FOX Sports 1.
