Alpha Prime Racing Reveals No. 45 As Second Part-Time Entry

It was back in November that TobyChristie.com exclusively confirmed that Alpha Prime Racing would field an additional entry for 2022, with much of the anticipation around the car centering on the driver roster and the number for the car.

With a majority of the driver roster confirmed for the organization as a whole, Alpha Prime Racing revealed on Wednesday that the second entry for the team will race the No. 45.

The custom number design came from Ryan Pistana, a Texas-based designer who was responsible for every Alpha Prime Racing paint scheme design in 2021 for the team. Pistana also custom-created the No. 44 for the team in 2021 when Alpha Prime made their debut as a sponsor for the formally named Martins Motorsports and driver Tommy Joe Martins.

“Designing numbers can sometimes be challenging but it’s always fun since I have a method to my madness,” Pistana told TobyChristie.com. “It’s cool to think there’s a handful of teams in Xfinity that use number styles that I’ve designed, and who knows maybe we’ll see a couple more later in the season.”

Martins told TobyChristie.com back in November that the second entry would enter into the season with a focus on superspeedway and road courses. The organization’s driver lineup collectively for 2022 already includes ARCA Menards Series driver Rajah Caruth, Ryan Ellis, Andy Lally, Caesar Bacarella, and team manager Tommy Joe Martins.

In terms of which driver gets which car and what races, that will come down to what each driver’s respective sponsors will need, according to Martins. Bacarella is expected to drive for APR at the season-opening race in Daytona next month.
