Video: Sam Mayer Wins Over Ryan Sieg in Photo Finish at Texas

WHAT A FINISH!

Two-one thousandths of a second is the margin that flipped the script on Sam Mayer’s disappointing 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series season as he narrowly defeated Ryan Sieg to the finish line in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Here is a non slow-motion video of the battle to the finish:

While it was ultimate elation for Mayer, the end result was a heartbreaking near-miss for Sieg, who came home second by seemingly an inch or two.

The finish in Saturday’s race at Texas was the second-closest finish in NASCAR Xfinity Series history.

On a restart with 21 laps to go, Sieg charged from the 10th position to take the lead with 18 laps remaining in the race. Sieg would lead 17 consecutive laps before barely being eked out in the final few feet of the final lap of the race.
