UPDATE – Tuesday, July 12th, 2022 at 10:56 am:

While currently in the heat of the battle for the Camping World SRX Championship, NTT IndyCar Series driver Marco Andretti has continued to express his interest in competing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

“I’m talking to some people about Xfinity,” Andretti said post-race on Saturday. “If I can hang with these guys, maybe I can hang in Xfinity. It would be fun.”

The revelation comes more than one year after Andretti said that he was getting close to finalizing a deal that would see him compete part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series last season. However, nothing materialized.

Additional information will be added to the story, as it becomes available.

Original Story: July 7th, 2021 at 5:08 pm:

Marco Andretti, the grandson of 1967 Daytona 500 Champion and racing legend Mario Andretti, is close to finalizing an agreement that will see the long-time competitor in the NTT IndyCar Series contest a partial schedule in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Andretti mentioned the impending closure of the deal in a pre-race media availability for the penultimate Camping World SRX Series event at Slinger Speedway on Saturday Night, where the 34-year-old will attempt to capture his first feature victory in the series’ inaugural season.

The Nazareth, Pennsylvania-native didn’t disclose the organization he would be running for, nor did he announce a schedule of events, but further announcements with the specifics of the agreement should be forthcoming.

Additional information will be added to the story, as it becomes available.
