Travis Pastrana, an action sports legend who competed in the season-opening NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Daytona International Speedway with Niece Motorsports, is trading in his Chevrolet bowtie to grab life by the horns with Ram Trucks.

On Wednesday, Kaulig Racing announced Pastrana as the latest driver to slide behind the wheel of the No. 25 Ram 1500 as part of Ram’s “Free Agent Driver Program”. Pastrana will compete in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 22.

Pastrana, one of the true showmen in motorsport and action sports, is ready to put on a show for NASCAR’s hardcore fans in Concord, North Carolina, later this month.

“I love racing and competing at everything, and NASCAR is one of the biggest and most competitive stages on earth,” said Pastrana. “Having the opportunity to hop in the No. 25 Ram truck with Kaulig Racing through the Free Agent Program is an amazing opportunity. These Ram 1500s are so much fun to drive. We’re going to go out there, put on a show for the fans and see what we can do.”

The 41-year-old Maryland native has amassed 50 starts in the NASCAR National Series in his driving career, including a full-time NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series campaign in 2013.

Pastrana’s career-best finish in the NASCAR National Series was a ninth-place effort at Richmond Raceway in the O’Reilly Series in 2013. Pastrana also finished 11th in the 2023 Daytona 500, his lone NASCAR Cup Series start, and he has three top-15 finishes in seven career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts, including a 15th-place finish earlier this season at Daytona.

Pastrana is the latest in a long line of big-time names that have competed for Kaulig Racing in the No. 25 Ram 1500 this season. Tony Stewart served as the driver of the truck at Daytona at the beginning of the season. Since the return of “Smoke”, Ty Dillon, Colin Braun, Corey LaJoie, Parker Kligerman, A.J. Allmendinger, and Carson Ferguson have all had a crack behind the wheel of the truck, while Clint Bowyer and Jamie McMurray will have a start in the truck later this season as well.
