After most of last season running in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Connor Mosack has taken on a much more diverse schedule for the 2024 season, spanning multiple disciplines and divisions.

The Charlotte, North Carolina-native isn’t stepping away from the second-tier series entirely, though, with the announcement Thursday that he’ll join JR Motorsports to pilot the No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro in select events, beginning at the Chicago Street Course (July 6).

Mosack will return to the entry at Charlotte Motor Speedway’s ROVAL in October.

For the 25-year-old racer, the NASCAR Xfinity Series starts will serve as a reunion with JR Motorsports, after Mosack spent the 2020 season competing in the CARS Late Model Tour with the organization, finishing sixth in points.

Mosack’s two-race program with JR Motorsports will add to an already robust schedule for the 2024 season, which includes starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, ARCA Menards Series, CARS Late Model Tour, and TransAm TA2 Division.

Porter Pipe & Supply, a third-generation, family-owned and operated wholesale supplier of commercial and industrial pipe, valves, fittings, plumbing supplies, HVAC and refrigeration equipment, and mechanical products, will serve as the primary partner for the No. 88 Chevrolet at the Chicago Street Race.

“It’s great to be back with Porter Pipe & Supply and JRM for the Chicago Street Race,” Mosack said. “I ran last year’s inaugural Xfinity Series race in Chicago with Porter Pipe & Supply and they had a ton of people out at the race. They were all pumped. Unfortunately, weather kind of put a damper on things and cut the race short. We’re looking forward to getting back to Chicago. We’ve got some unfinished business there.”

Last season, while contesting a 24-race NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule for Sam Hunt Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing, Mosack recorded a career-best fifth-place run at Watkins Glen International, with his only other top-10 result being an eighth at Portland.

In his six-race ARCA Menards Series program with Joe Gibbs Racing, Mosack showed some incredible prowess, laying down an impressive 3.5 average finish and only placing outside the top four on one occasion — a ninth-place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway – while also collecting his first win at Kansas last Fall.

Mosack’s primary focus is on clinching the TransAm TA2 Championship this season, where after three races, the driver sits in 10thin points for Silver Hare Racing. As of May 2, Mosack has contested a single race in the ARCA Menards Series (4th at Phoenix), NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (19th at Las Vegas), and CARS Tour (12th at Orange County).

Driving a partial ARCA Menards Series schedule for Pinnacle Racing Group, Mosack will be pulling double-duty this weekend at Kansas Speedway, as he contests the first race in a five-round NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series campaign in the No. 7 for Spire Motorsports.

Mosack is the fifth driver announced to pilot the No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro for JR Motorsports this season, joining Carson Kvapil, Bubba Pollard, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and Connor Zilisch. With the addition of Mosack, the fifth part-time entry for the organization is now scheduled to run at least 10 NASCAR Xfinity Series events in 2024.
