Justin Allgaier emerged victorious as he was the leader at the time of caution on the final lap of an overtime restart in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Cabo Wabo 250 at Michigan International Speedway. Allgaier topped Joe Gibbs Racing’s Sheldon Creed, who picked up the 11th runner-up finish of his NASCAR Xfinity Series career, the most all-time for a driver who hasn’t won in the series.

Following Allgaier’s win, his race-winning No. 7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro took the customary trip to the post-race inspection bay, where the Hellmann’s Mayonaise car was given a passing grade. As a result, NASCAR officially declared Allgaier and his team the official winners of Saturday’s race at Michigan.

This win is the second of the 2024 season for Allgaier, and it marks the 25th of his illustrious NASCAR Xfinity Series career. With the win, Allgaier has now climbed to within 12 points of Cole Custer, who finished 30th, for the regular-season championship lead.

There were no issues in post-race inspection, and there will be no cars taken back by NASCAR to the R&D Center this week. This means all results and standings following Saturday’s race are now considered official.

Behind Allgaier and Creed were John Hunter Nemechek in the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, Anthony Alfredo in the No. 5 Our Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro, and Sammy Smith in the No. 8 JR Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro.
