When NASCAR heads to the Brickyard during the Fourth of July weekend, things will have a different look and feel.

Roger Penske wanted to go big in his first Brickyard 400 as the owner of the iconic Indianapolis race track.

“The Brickyard weekend has been a cornerstone of the IMS schedule since its debut in 1994, and we’re committed to the continued growth and revitalization of the event with its move from early September to Fourth of July weekend,” Roger Penske said. “Our partners at NASCAR, NBC, Big Machine and Pennzoil share our passion for this great event, and we will work alongside them and others to deliver world-class racing and entertainment for our fans during a celebration of America.”

The most notable change to the weekend’s festivities will be that the NASCAR Xfinity Series event, which is run on Saturday, will be contested on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.

Over night, the facility will be transformed back into its oval form for the NASCAR Cup Series teams to run the Big Machine Vodka 400.

The track will also feature a concert by Florida Georgia Line and a massive fireworks show as well.
