Hendrick Motorsports will once again field a part-time entry in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2024, with the official announcement Tuesday that the No. 17 Chevrolet Camaro will make 10 appearances in the second-tier series throughout the year, with five different drivers.

Currently pinpointed at 10 races, the Xfinity Series program for Hendrick Motorsports will be contesting its largest schedule since the organization was reintroduced to the series for a four-race campaign in 2022.

Each of the organization’s four full-time competitors in the NASCAR Cup Series will take turns behind the wheel of the No. 17 Chevrolet Camaro, which will be fully sponsored by HendrickCars.com, as the entry has the last two seasons. Additionally, Boris Said, a road racing veteran who serves as a partner at Hendrick Automotive Group-operated BMW of Murrieta, will make a one-off appearance in the entry.

2024 Daytona 500 winner William Byron will start the part-time campaign for Hendrick in 2024, driving the No. 17 Chevrolet at Phoenix Raceway on March 9. The 26-year-old driver will contest a four-race schedule in the Xfinity Series entry, which includes Darlington (May 11), Pocono (July 13), and Watkins Glen (September 14).

The 11-time NASCAR Cup Series winner will be partnered with Brandon McSwain, the lead engineer on the No. 24 Cup Series team, who will serve as crew chief for those four events. Veteran crew chief Greg Ives will call the shots on the No. 17 for the remaining six events on its 2024 schedule.

2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson will drive the No. 17 Chevrolet Camaro in a pair of Xfinity Series events in 2024, first at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) on March 23, and then at the Chicago Street Course on July 6.

Larson is a 14-time winner in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, the most recent of which came at Darlington Raceway last season, when driving the HendrickCars.com-sponsored No. 10 Chevrolet Camaro for Kaulig Racing.

Chase Elliott, NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver, will contest events at Charlotte Motor Speedway (May 25) and Darlington Raceway (August 31), while Alex Bowman will contest a single event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (June 22).

61-year-old Boris Said will drive the No. 17 Chevrolet Camaro at Sonoma Raceway, as he looks to avenge himself for a disappointing effort with the organization at Charlotte’s ROVAL last Fall.

“The No. 17 is a big part of our story, and it would be special to see it win – and win often – during our 40th anniversary season,” said Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports and chairman and CEO of Hendrick Automotive Group. “The sponsorship has been a big success for HendrickCars.com and our dealerships, and we’re pleased to add more races and take it to another level in 2024. It’s victory lane or bust.”

Over the last two seasons, Hendrick Motorsports has contested 10 NASCAR Xfinity Series events but has yet to return to Victory Lane, scoring six top-five results, and seven top-10 finishes, while also leading numerous laps.
