We have seen a lot of fresh faces getting involved in NASCAR over the last month, or so, including NBA legend Michael Jordan, who will have his own NASCAR Cup Series team in 2021. On Thursday, the NFL’s all-time rushing leader also decided to dip his toes into the NASCAR waters as he will be involved with Jesse Iwuji’s No. 99 BJ McLeod Motorsports entry at Texas Motor Speedway.

Smith, who co-founded the company Notable Live, which is a two-way video platform for notable celebrities to interact with fans and others, will have the company plastered on the No. 99 car.

Iwuji tweeted video of the car unveiling on Thursday.

And he released a pretty cool hype video on YouTube, as well.

Iwuji, 33, is a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy and he has also been trying to forge his path in NASCAR. The Texas-native has made his first two career NXS starts this season, with a best finish of 26th coming at Road America. He will attempt to better that record this weekend at his home track.

Being partnered with someone of the stature of Smith, who will also serve as the grand marshal for Saturday NXS race, is huge for Iwuji’s career.

Iwuji got his start in the K&N Pro West Series back in 2015. Slowly and methodically, he has climbed his way up the ladder and will now look to parlay opportunity into results.
