Andre Castro, who impressed prior to a crash in his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut with Jesse Iwuji Motorsports at the Chicago Street Course, will make his second start for the No. 34 team in next week’s Pennzoil 150 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course.

Castro, 24, will carry primary sponsorship from the Wings and Wheels Foundation on the team’s Chevrolet Camaro.

The Jesse Iwuji Motorsports team made the announcement via social media on Friday afternoon.

The young racer, who is a first-generation Colombian-American, is well-versed in road racing. In 2019, Castro scored four podium finishes in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Elite 2 division, and he has also recorded podium finishes in the USF Juniors and the Formula 4 United States Championship series.

Additionally, Castro has competed in the US F2000 National Championship, F1600 Championship, and Formula Ford Festival.

After running a full season in 2022, Jesse Iwuji Motorsports scaled its operation back to part-time for the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series season after a legal dispute with former primary sponsor Equity Prime Mortgage.

In December, JIM filed a $4.125-million lawsuit against the company for breach of contract of its sponsorship of the No. 34 car during the 2022 season.
