According to the NASCAR Team Rosters Portal, 2011 NASCAR Cup Series rookie of the year and winner of 26 Rolex Sports Car Series events, Andy Lally will slide behind the wheel of the No. 23 Our Motorsports entry in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Pit Boss 250 at Circuit of the Americas this weekend.

Back in April, Lally stated on Twitter that he would be running the event at COTA, but couldn’t reveal any details other than it would be in, “a good car.”

Our Motorsports will definitely provide exactly that. Lally scored two fifth-place finishes driving the No. 02 car for Our Motorsports last season at Road America and the Daytona International Speedway Road Course.

Lally, 46, has made one other NXS start this season, which came at the Daytona International Speedway and ended with a disappointing 31st-place result in the No. 99 BJ McLeod Motorsports machine. Lally will look to avenge that result this weekend in a No. 23 car that has been impressive all season long.

In 14-career NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, the New York-native has three top-five finishes and seven top-10s, with his best finish being fifth, which he’s achieved three separate times.

This, of course, will be the first time that NASCAR has ever visited Circuit of the Americas, a picturesque road course nestled in Austin, Texas.

Lally does have previous experience at the road course in the sports car world, so he will have an advantage on a large portion of the starting field when the race weekend begins.
