Things may be tense on Monday in the Front Row Motorsports meeting, after Michael McDowell went for a spin off of turn four with nine laps to go in stage two at Atlanta Motors Speedway.

Although there was no physical contact between McDowell and rookie teammate John Hunter Nemechek, the aerodynamic effects of Nemechek’s No. 38 were a great deal of help in sending the No. 34 Fr8 Auctions Ford for a spin.

This caution late in stage two would trigger a shootout for the stage two win and the incredibly valueable playoff point that comes along with it.
