For the first-time in the Camping World SRX Series, a multi-car accident has broken out in the second heat of Saturday Night’s event at Eldora Speedway, collecting nearly half of the field.

The accident happened when Ernie Francis Jr (Yellow No. 2) tagged Tony Kanaan (Pink No. 48), sending both cars spinning into the first corner, collecting Michael Waltrip (Blue No. 15), Kody Swanson (Patriotic Camo No. 63) and Tony Stewart (Orange No. 14).

Waltrip was not able to finish the heat two, along with Swanson and Francis.

Marco Andretti would go on to win stage two in SRX’s debut at Eldora.

Thanks to the format of the series, drivers are able to have their cars serviced in between the heats. Waltrip, Swanson, and Francis are expected to have repairs during the break.
