Ty Gibbs and Joe Gibbs Racing have again shown the rest of the ARCA Menards Series field who is boss, dominating Saturday Afternoon’s Sprecher 150 at The Milwaukee Mile, leading all 150 laps en-route to his ninth victory of the season, and the 17th of his ARCA Menards Series career.

Ty Gibbs smokes the tires after winning his ninth ARCA Menards Series race of 2021 at The Milwaukee Mile.

The 18-year-old showed no signs of slowing down throughout the entire event, never even having a challenge for the race lead that lasted more than two corners after a restart, allowing the championship contender to cruise to a reasonably easy win.

NASCAR Xfinity Series regular Sam Mayer brought his Bret Holmes Racing entry home in second-place, after fighting hard for positions in the back half of the top-10 throughout the race’s first and second of three segments, divided by five minute race breaks.

Daniel Dye brought his GMS Racing Chevrolet home in third-place, which allowed him to gain a pair of points on ARCA Menards Series East points leader Sammy Smith, who brought home a fifth-place finish after running inside the top-three throughout most of the race. David Gilliland Racing’s Taylor Gray finished in fourth.

Corey Heim, Jesse Love, Joey Iest, Thad Moffitt and Gracie Trotter rounded out the top-10 in the series’ first trip to The Milwaukee Mile since 2007.

With Milwaukee serving as a combination race between the ARCA Menards Series and ARCA East Series, as well as the eighth of 10 Sioux Chief Showdown events, Saturday’s 150-lap event served as an important turning point in each of the series’ title battles.

In the ARCA Menards Series, Ty Gibbs – by virtue of bonus points for a pole position and leading the most laps, along with the victory — was able to extend his championship lead to 11 points over Corey Heim, as the series heads to DuQuoin for the second of two dirt races next weekend.

Similarly, Gibbs was able to extend his points lead in the Sioux Chief Showdown standings, placing him 13 points ahead of Corey Heim with only two races left in the 10-race short track championship.

Finally, Sammy Smith continues to hold his impressive points lead over Daniel Dye heading into the series-finale at Bristol Motor Speedway, leading by a nearly insurmountable 24 points over the GMS Racing driver. While unlikely, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver could officially clinch the ARCA Menards Series East championship if less than 19 cars were to enter the series finale at Bristol.
