The amount of on-track activity on the schedule for the first of a three-day race weekend at Texas Motor Speedway has been dramatically reduced, following the lingering impact of showers throughout the afternoon on Friday.

First, as a result of precipitation falling in the Fort Worth, Texas area, NASCAR was forced to bounce NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series practice and qualifying from the schedule on Friday.

A couple of hours later, after the showers had cleared out, the same thing happened for the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

While the sanctioning body worked hard to get the second-tier series out onto the racetrack on Friday, persistent weepers prevented the 1.5-mile racetrack from being completely dried.

Drivers from both series will have their first laps on the racetrack this weekend when the green flag drops in their respective events, with starting lineups set by NASCAR’s Performance Metric.

Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series SpeedyCash.com 250, scheduled for 8:00 PM ET on FS1, will see McAnally-Hilgemann Racing teammates Tyler Ankrum and Daniel Hemric on the front row.

Jake Garcia will start third in the No. 13 Ford F-150 for ThorSport Racing, with Corey Heim and Grant Enfinger rounding out the top five. Kaden Honeycutt, Rajah Caruth, Layne Riggs, Chandler Smith, and Jack Wood complete the top-10.

In the NASCAR Xfinity Series event, which will take place Saturday at 2:00 PM ET on The CW, Austin Hill will lead the field to the green flag after winning last weekend at Talladega Superspeedway.

Justin Allgaier will start alongside the Richard Childress Racing driver in second place, with Jesse Love in third. Cousins Jeb and Harrison Burton in fourth and fifth.

Sheldon Creed, Sam Mayer, Matt DiBenedetto, Daniel Dye, and Anthony Alfredo will take the green flag from the top-10.

With 40 cars entered in Saturday’s 300-mile contest from Texas,  a pair of drivers were sent packing early. Those were CJ McLaughlin in the No. 92 for DGM Racing and Dawson Cram in the No. 74 for Mike Harmon Racing.

Notable drivers starting outside the top-10 for Saturday’s event include Taylor Gray (12th), Carson Kvapil (13th), Nick Sanchez (14th), Kyle Larson (20th), Brandon Jones (21st), Sammy Smith (22nd), Christian Eckes (23rd), Riley Herbst (27th), Corey Day (33rd), and William Sawalich (35th).
