Tony Stewart shocked the world earlier this year when he returned to NASCAR to compete for Ram Trucks in the season-opening NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Daytona International Speedway. And while Stewart initially said that the race would be a one-off and that he had no intentions of returning for additional NASCAR races, the driver seems quite a bit more open to returning just a few months later.

On a new episode of Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour Podcast, which dropped on Thursday, Stewart and his wife, Leah Pruett, were the interview guests. Near the end of the 25-minute interview, Harvick brings up Stewart’s experience in the season-opening event at Daytona.

Of course, Stewart’s return race at Daytona led to a 36th-place finish after a crash on the 40th lap of the event.

However, even with the disappointing finish, Pruett chimed in that she enjoyed seeing Stewart happy in his natural element behind the wheel of a NASCAR race vehicle. She explained that despite a crash in the race, her husband remained happy and upbeat all weekend.

Because of that, Pruett says she’d like to see Stewart run another NASCAR Truck Series race.

“It was awesome to see because the fun that he had that week leading up to the race, he didn’t let that crash eliminate that fun, and it just kept going. I was really happy to see happy Tony, really, in his natural atmosphere. It was fun for me. I’m a proponent of him doing it again,” Pruett shared.

This led Harvick to question Stewart if he would do it again.

“I’m pretty sure I’m going to do it again,” Stewart responded.

Harvick, who has recently hinted that he would like to compete in select NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events, then said that he and Stewart should run the same race together next season.

“Us both run the same race? Hell yeah, I’m in,” Stewart fired back.

Based on this conversation, it sounds like NASCAR fans have certainly not seen the last of Tony Stewart in the NASCAR National Series garage, and a return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series could be coming very soon for “Smoke”.
