Tony Mrakovich may only have three starts in NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series competition this season, but it is becoming apparent that he certainly has some driving talent.

Driving for NEMCO Motorsports, Mrakovich took his second-consecutive top-15 finish Friday night in the World of Westgate 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Mrakovich came home 13th at the 1.5-mile speedway in Sin City.

The 20-year old who hails from Pennsylvania finished 12th at Pocono Raceway five races ago.

His only other race of the season was at Texas Motor Speedway in June, where he suffered brake issues and was relegated to a 26th-place finish.

Even with the DNF at Texas, Mrakovich has an average finish of 17.0 in his three starts in 2019. That isn’t too shabby, and it should be eye-opening to full-time Truck Series teams that have been struggling to find results this season.

12th and 13th place finishes in a couple of one-off races may not seem like much. But for a guy looking to gain traction in NASCAR, this could very well be the foundation for a successful future for Mrakovich.

  1. Thank you for this piece on Tony Mrakovich. He is certainly an up and coming Super Star in the “dog eat dog” world of NASCAR. To often we see money trump talent, and youngsters that have no idea how to change a tire let alone set up a race car! Tony Mrakovich is a true throwback to the days of “run what you bring”, and if it breaks I’ll fix it! Make no mistake we need Tony Mrakovich’s in our sport!

    Thank you

  2. Tony is very good as a driver and will be racing in the NASCAR gander truck series again soon hopefully at Martinsville speedway October 26th.Terry Brown p.r for tony m.
