Ross Chastain seems to be everyone’s favorite to take the 2019 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series championship, and Thursday night he got his championship fight off to a great start in the opening Stage of the UNOH 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Chastain led 44 laps in the Stage and he outpaced pole sitter Brett Moffitt to the finish line for the Stage win.

Moffitt led 11 laps in Stage 1 but could only muster a runner-up effort in the Stage.

Johnny Sauter, Ben Rhodes and Chandler Smith rounded out the top-five in Stage 1.

Matt Crafton ended the Stage in sixth. Stewart Friesen who captured an emotional win at Eldora a few weeks ago to make the Playoffs was seventh.

Tyler Ankrum, John Hunter Nemechek and Austin Hill rounded out the top-10 in the Stage.
