In a thrilling finish to the first-ever street course event in NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series history, Layne Riggs was able to come out on top as the race winner. But it wasn’t an easy thing to achieve, as the driver of the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford was managing a dwindling fuel load, while also trying to keep two drivers — Ty Majeski and Ben Rhodes — with faster trucks behind him in the closing laps.
Riggs was able to get it done, and he even had enough fuel in the tank to perform a post-race burnout.

After climbing from his truck after the grueling late-race battle, Riggs expressed his gratitude to Joey Hand, who has been helping him improve his craft on road courses.
“First thing I’m going to say is thank you to Joey Hand, my road course guy. He’s the man; we’ve been working on this racetrack on the simulator at Ford Racing since December,” Riggs said in his post-race interview on FOX. “I really wanted to get my first win on a road course. The short track guy from Bahama, North Carolina, won at St. Pete, can you believe it? I’ve really been perfecting my craft. I feel like I’ve been really close on the road courses, and big shout-out to everyone at Front Row Motorsports. I literally said this year, I want to win on a road course to show that I’m not just that short track guy.”
Not only was it an incredible feat to hold off Majeski and Rhodes, but Riggs finding himself in control of the race late in the day was unexpected after he qualified poorly in the 28th position. However, the races aren’t won in qualifying, and Riggs showed why on Saturday.
The victory is the first of the 2026 season for Riggs, and it’s the sixth win of his 57-race NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series career.
Majeski, who took the lead from Riggs on the final restart of the race, only to skid off course to relinquish the lead back to Riggs, would come back to finish second, ahead of his ThorSport Racing teammate Rhodes, who finished third.
Chandler Smith, Riggs’ Front Row Motorsports teammate, came home in the fourth position, and in doing so was able to keep his grasp on the series point lead. After three races, Smith holds a 34-point advantage over Rhodes, while Majeski is 50 points back in third, Gio Ruggiero is 54 points back in fourth, and Riggs has climbed to fifth, 56 points back.
Kaden Honeycutt turned in a top-five performance for the No. 11 TRICON Garage team after recovering from a spin.
Landen Lewis, Andres Perez de Lara, Daniel Hemric, Colin Braun, and James Hinchcliffe rounded out the top-10 finishers in the race.
Braun, driving the No. 25 Ram Truck for Kaulig Racing, took home bragging rights over Hinchcliffe and the other road racing specialists, who entered Saturday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race, as he was the highest finisher of them all in ninth.
Other road ringers in the event included Ben Maier (11th), Carter Fartuch (21st), Adam Andretti (23rd), Dario Franchitti (27th), Jackson Lee (29th), Nathan Nicholson (34th), and Wesley Slimp (36th).
